Cardio Dance Workouts For Fun and Fitness!

Cardio workouts are designed to raise your heart rate and breathing intensity for a minimum of ten minutes. Our cardio dance classes are between 25 – 35 minutes and include a warm up and cool down period. We hope to maintain your target heart rate for a minimum of 20 minutes per class.

Join us for multiple classes every week to reach the recommended cardiovascular exercise level as detailed by the Mayo Clinic.

The My Body By Dance curriculum and class experience focuses on your posture, flexibility, balance and range of motion. In every cardio dance class our instructors will point out muscle movement and positioning that maximizes your result starting with the warm ups through the entire class and ending with the cool downs.

Warming Up and Cooling Down

Our goal for every warm up is to get your blood flowing into your muscles. When working out, your muscles will demand more oxygen, and warm ups are designed to position that oxygen so it is more readily available when your muscles need it. Warm ups will also help you loosen up, and get you and your body in the mood to get moving – and with MBBD, get dancing! Use our few minutes of warming up to move your body. Follow our MBBD instructor’s guidance and allow yourself to get lost in the music and expressive movement.

After the warm up, our instructors will work on either steadily raising your heart rate throughout the cardio dance class, or providing intervals of intensity. This is nothing like running on the treadmill, or being in a gym! Our classes work to resemble you performing dance routines. Our instructors are there to remind you how to engage each muscle in the activity. You will also find that the more classes you take the more expressive your movements will become. Your muscles will work harder, while your spirit feels more free.

Cardio Dance With An Emphasis on Dance!

At MBBD, we work to keep that feeling of dancing throughout the entire class, including the cool down. Our cool downs are built on dance moves designed to stretch your muscles and movement, and to breathe! Breathing will improve your physical and emotional experience. Plant those feet, reach your arms up and breathe in all the energy of dance!
